Housing Foundation of America Mourns the Passing of Executive Director Jeremy Montanti
PEMBROKE PINES, FLA. — Housing Foundation of America, Inc. (HFA) announces with profound sadness the passing of its Executive Director, Jeremy Montanti on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 50 — one day after the organization celebrated his tenth anniversary of service. Mr. Montanti led HFA from 2016 through 2026, a decade in which he helped this 21-year-old nonprofit, established in October 2005, become one of the most trusted HUD-approved housing counseling organizations serving South Florida and beyond.
“Jeremy was more than our Executive Director — he was a pilot to this mission. For ten years he showed up for every family, every workshop, every late call from a homebuyer who needed someone to believe in them. We are devastated. And we are forever changed for having walked beside him.”
— Chester A. Bishop
Board Chair & Founding Member, Housing Foundation of America, Inc.
Mr. Montanti joined HFA in 2016 and led the organization for ten years, expanding its reach from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach into Guilford County, North Carolina, and beyond. Under his direction, HFA strengthened its HUD-certified homebuyer education workshops, foreclosure prevention counseling, reverse mortgage guidance, and down-payment assistance navigation — helping thousands of families access down-payment assistance and home rehabilitation funds on their path to homeownership. HFA continues to operate on the vision he championed: achieving affordable, sustainable homeownership through financial education — one generation at a time.
"Jeremy was the kind of partner you hope you get to work with once in a career. Behind every key handed over was Jeremy, quietly making sure the family was ready, informed, and protected. We will carry his standard of care into every closing we touch."
— Annlee Armstrong
President, Attorneys' Title Partners, Inc.
The Board of Directors, under the leadership of Board Chair Chester A. Bishop, will share information about leadership continuity and memorial arrangements as those details are confirmed and as the family permits.
