Palm Beach County's Department of Housing and Economic Development has announced the Homebuyer Match Pilot Program — This program is designed to meet working families where they are and help bridge the financial gap that has kept so many residents from crossing the threshold into homeownership.
What Is the Homebuyer Match Pilot Program?
The Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Development has made $2,000,000 available for Phase I of this pilot program. The concept is straightforward and powerful: the County will match your cash contribution toward your home purchase — dollar for dollar — up to $50,000.
Those funds can be applied toward down payment assistance, points buy-down, minor repairs, and closing costs. This is not just money on the table. This is Palm Beach County investing directly in you and your family's future.
Here is what you need to know about the purchase price limits:
- Single-family homes: Purchase price must not exceed $700,000
- Townhomes or condominiums: Purchase price must not exceed $325,000
Approved homebuyers are required to contribute a minimum of $10,000 of their own funds. That is the starting point — and the County will match every dollar you put in, up to $50,000.

How the Application Process Works
This is a lottery-based program, and spots are limited. Here is the timeline you need to know:
The online pre-application portal opens Monday, March 30, 2026 at 8:00 AM and closes Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Palm Beach County will accept pre-applications to enter a random lottery selection process for 60 applications. That means time is of the essence — and preparation is everything. The more ready you are before that portal opens, the better your chances of moving forward quickly once selected.

Before applying, Palm Beach County encourages all interested applicants to attend one of the free Virtual Pre-Application Orientations. These sessions will walk you through the program requirements, the application process, and what to expect every step of the way.
